Testing in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Region

The City of Amsterdam and Innofest are working together to strengthen sustainable and social innovation in the Metropolitan Region Amsterdam. They help eighteen start-ups to set up a test case at a test location that comes as close to reality as possible. In this case, these are three festivals in the Amsterdam region, including ADE DGTL.

They are looking for entrepreneurs who develop innovations within the themes of sustainable mobility, circular materials, energy, (digital) security, food and inclusivity.

The program

The test case will be created step by step in a series of six workshops. Before and during the final practical test at the festival, the selected entrepreneurs receive personal guidance from a test expert to achieve optimal results.

After the test case at the festival, an evaluation workshop will follow. Here the entrepreneurs look back on the test case and look ahead to possible further steps. This way we ensure that the collected data is actually used to improve the prototype.

Important to know: a test budget is available for participating entrepreneurs to cover expenses.

Why is testing so important?

Assumption is the mother of all fuck-ups. That is why Innofest firmly believes in the importance of testing. Nine out of ten innovations fail because the prototype has not been tested sufficiently before it launches into the market. This costs entrepreneurs a lot of time, money and energy. That is why Innofest helps entrepreneurs design a successful test and links them to test locations that come as close to reality as possible, such as festivals.
