Speeddate Sessions with AirQon, how to Power your Event with Electric Cars

DeLaMar – 18th October – D12 – 15.30 – 16.15

We all share the desire to build fossil-free festivals and we know that, in principle, it’s feasible. But how exactly do we power our events without the familiar diesel generators?

Last year AirQon pitched their innovative project at ADE Green: how to use electric cars to power events. Meanwhile, AirQon has been tested at several festivals in The Netherlands and will expand their services to Europe next year. Festival owners, Event managers, producers and sustainability managers can join one of the speed date sessions to discover how your event could use this new and sustainable energy solution.

AirQon will kick-off with a brief presentation and will break-out in smaller groups to have interactieve conversations about the possibilities.

Please apply here for a speed date session.

Exclusive workshop: Resource Plans and “Designing Out” Event Waste
With Leonie Boon – Resources Expert Green Events

CLOSED

DeLaMar – 18th October – D1 – 13.45 – 15.15 – max 11 persons

People all over the world are embracing the principles of the circular economy and developing new ways to manage resources. The idea that consumers needs to own each product, to be used and then discarded as waste without a second thought is no longer viable. Given that waste is becoming a bigger environmental and health threat every day, we need to rethink the way we use and design products.

Take for example the fact that the average festival organizer generates up to 2,3 kg of waste per visitor per day – which is more than the average citizen in their normal life. How can we look beyond the current “take, make, dispose” mentality employed in festivals to “design out” waste? Where can we redefine products and services in order to minimise the negative impact of a festival? This workshop is interactive, and hands-on. You will learn how to find solutions and design out waste for your own event. And we have the perfect guide for the session in Leonie Boon.

Green Events is a solid team of creative, passionate and hands-on individuals, united by the mission to restore the balance on earth. They share a background in the events industry and are highly skilled sustainability experts, combining research and high-level strategic knowledge with hands-on experience in the field, all down to the nitty gritty. Leonie Boon, resource expert in the team, has over 15 years hands-on experience in the waste industry, and onsite at festivals her nickname is The Recycle Queen. Among others she has managed resources at DGTL, Welcome to the Future, Mysteryland, Thuishaven and Awakenings. She combines curiosity, persistence, a friendly smile and dedication to design out waste: that dedication is already achieving amazing results at events. She would love to share her knowledge and guide you towards a future-proof festival
